Best bit: a board book with gentle, beautiful Biblical truths in it

Worst bit: I might have put less Bible verses in the author letter (see below), as, while I love those verses, many Christians who aren’t wild about the Bible would also find this book wonderful.

More thoughts:

This lovely board book is perfect for reading to children age 0-5. In fact, it’s designed as a board book for babies and toddlers, but the words are good for any age, even adults.

The letter from the author on the inside cover says:

“Words are powerful.

Proverbs 18:21 says, “The tongue has the power of life and death. We birth and create things with our spoken words. We can heal, bild and grow things. Our spoken words are powerful, but even more powerful than our words are God’s words. The word God is alive and full of power (Hebrews 4:12); it is called the ‘sword of the spirit’ (Ephesians 6:17). Psalm 138:2 says that god honours his word. In Isaiah 55:11 God says his word will ‘not return …void’. Deuteronomy 7:9 tells us that God keeps his promises.

Share these promises of God with your children – and together find hope, confidence and freedom.”

Each page has a picture, a promise and a Bible verse. I would probably just read the promise, as it is directed to the child to be read aloud.

And anyone looking for a gift for a family with under 5s should get this!
