The GodVenture Sticker Advent Calendar is the one where the stickers tell the story, giving busy families a simple way to explore the Christmas story in the run up to Christmas.

Each individual calendar comes with 28 stickers to add as you read each part of the Christmas story in the accompanying Christmas Story Journal.

Featuring bold, colourful artwork created by GodVenture founder, Victoria Beech, the GodVenture Advent Sticker Calendar is a fun way to celebrate Advent with your family, and a simple way to be drawn into the joy of the nativity story.

Please note that this year Jesus is ‘born’ on December 14 and then is visited by the shepherds and wise men – with an additional sticker for December 25th showing Jesus as a toddler, as many scholars estimate he would have been by the time the wise men arrived.

Christmas Story Journal

The Christmas Story Journal comes with individual calendars. It is a luxe-feel 28 page journal with the Christmas story from the Bible for you to read each day, open-ended questions to help you reflect on the story and space to draw or write notes, questions and reflections. The story is taken from the New International Readers Version of the Bible, very similar to NIV but with care taken to make the language accessible to people for whom reading English isn’t easy.

This journal is a really simple way to draw near to the wonder of the Christmas story, and works brilliantly alongside the stickers.

Stickers

The sticker sheet includes 28 stickers, one for every two to three lines of story, so you can use it each day in Advent, or every few days, adding the stickers relevant to the part of the story you’re reading.

There are 25 stickers that depict the Christmas story, each sticker tells part of the story, allowing everyone to engage with the narrative as the story is read. The last three stickers are for families to think about where they might be in this story and add themselves!

How to use it

The calendar is a really fun, easy and meaningful way to enjoy reading the Christmas story together, and you get to choose how to do it in a way which works best for you and you family:

1. Daily: Read one short section of the story and stick one sticker each day. The story sections are really short – it should only take you a minute!
2. Weekly: Read a ‘scene’ at a time, two or three scenes each week, and stick those stickers on as you read the story. Each ‘scene’ will take about 5 minutes.
3. All in one go: Put the stickers on as you go – this will take about half an hour, and is a really fun way to share the story together.
