Bible, Blessing, and Be Creative!
One way to explore a Bible verse is to do something creative with our hands while we think or chat or ponder it.
A verse I love is the blessing in Numbers 6:24-26:
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
The Lord turn his face towards you and give you peace.”
One way to ponder this is to make Blessing bracelets, a friendship bracelet where the different colours represent a different blessing, or part of the blessing prayer.
You could choose blessings such as joy, peace, health, safety etc, or you could use three colours, one for each line of the blessing.
While you’re making the bracelet (once you’ve got going as I always find the first bit takes a little more concentration!), you can start repeating the blessing you have chosen as you do that colour. You might like to think about a person you’d like to give it to – they could wear it as a bracelet or use it as a key tag or zip pull – you could pray that blessing specifically for them.
Here’s a video showing you various ways you can make bracelets. You could use wool or string, but I love using embroidery thread as it has such bright colours.
